How to Turn Your Garden From Beast to Beauty

Finally we are experiencing milder weather and it feels as though we can finally start planning for the warmer months. This means that many of us start turning our attention to the garden, which can tend to be neglected during the winter.

If you’re a bit unsure of where to start or even what to do to get it looking tidier, we have collated our favourite simple tips for getting the garden tidy and ready to be enjoyed again.

Wrexham 2 Log Cabin

1) Sweep Up

This may sound silly but it is surprising how much neater the garden can look after a good sweep around, clearing away any dirt and dead leaves. If possible, a jet wash of the patio will make all the difference too but if you don’t have access to one, a sweep is a good place to start.

2) Trim

Spend a morning (or day if it is really needed!) pulling out weeds and dead flowers, trimming back bushes and trees and this will instantly make any garden go from mess to marvellous! it is also very satisfying to stand and look back at the results after a hard days work and really notice a difference!

3) Potted plants

If you are not very green fingered or are unsure what you want to plant and where, potted plants are a great idea and are a great way to add colour or interest to the garden. Especially if your garden is bare or you have a large patio or decking area.

4) Paint

If your fences or any outside buildings need a bit of TLC, don’t put it off! Not only will they look so much better once they have been treated but it means they will last longer. Our Rystix Range of timber treatments come in a variety of standard colours as well as the option to colour mix to a colour of your choose, giving you a splash of colour as well as timber protection.

5) Your Space

Create an area of the garden that is for you be it a social area if you enjoy entertaining or somewhere to sit and relax and enjoy pace and quiet on a sunny day. It doesn’t have to cost a lot, it can even be amongst your new potted plants with a vintage bucket full of ice and a bottle of your favourite wine. Or it could be a bench where you lay and read your latest book with a cuppa in your favourite mug.
